Mission

History
Aprende Canada started in March 2013 to offer another opportunity for continuing education for sonographers and sonologists.
It started as on-site training to now include worldwide online activities.
Founder/Owner—Leonardo Faundez
Leonardo Faundez is a registered Canadian diagnostic medical generalist and vascular sonographer with 25+ years of experience in large and small healthcare facilities.
His studies include a Master degree in Adult Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
In his 25+ years of experience in adult education, he has taught and trained sonography students, radiology residents, radiology fellows, and other health care professionals in a variety of learning environments. In addition, he gained considerable experience in curriculum design and curriculum development, as well as in the creation of simulation training activities and innovative instructional tools, such as the creation of a scrotal ultrasound phantom.
He has presented at Canadian and American conferences presenting on different topics. Furthermore, his articles on how to create a scrotal phantom was published in the Canadian Journal of Medical Sonography (CJMS). At least one American and two Canadian schools have already implemented this idea as part of their curricula.
Leonardo is passionate about education and finding creative ways to help learners succeed.
He and his colleague Haleema Rauf have written two ultrasound guidebooks which have been approved for publication by Wiley, and expected to be published in April 2026.
